Academic Support
Cristo Rey Philadelphia takes the academic success and support of our students very seriously. It is imperative that with our high expectations we provide high support so that our young people can thrive in and out of the classroom. Multiple interventions are provided by the Academic Support team in response to a child's specific needs to offset Academic Probation.
Workshops will be held throughout the year that students may sign up to attend.
Sessions to come include:
- How to Support your Cristo Rey Student at Home
- College Essay Writing (12th Grade Only)
- Latin Study Prep (9th & 10th Grades Only)
- The Importance of GPA (9th Grade Only)
- College or Career Pathways (10th Grade Only)
- Academic Advising to Prep for Junior Year (10th Grade Only)
Students may also register for free tutoring at The Free Library of Philadelphia. Tutoring is online and in order to gain access to tutoring services, students are required to have a library card.
Accommodations
Cristo Rey Philadelphia provides reasonable accommodations to all students who have supporting documentation such as a school or private evaluation (ex. 504 plan, IEP, Student Support Plan). Cristo Rey Philadelphia does not offer a special education program; therefore, not all accommodations in a student's IEP or 504 plan can be accommodated. While Cristo Rey Philadelphia accepts students with a variety of learning differences, we offer limited accommodations to support emotional and academic success.
To request an evaluation or discuss accommodations, please contact School Psychologist Valerie Cordero at vcordero@crphs.org.
