The accredited curriculum is designed and taught to prepare students for success in college. The faculty will work closely with each student and help them to develop a skill set that focuses on creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration.
Through the use of standards that prepare students for college-level work, effective teaching styles that make learning engaging and possible, and instruction that is informed by routine classroom assessments, we maximize the academic achievement of our students.
The ultimate goal of a Cristo Rey Philadelphia education is that all of our students will graduate from both high school and college. During their four high school years they will gain a deep understanding of both themselves and the world around them. They will be prepared to think and act for themselves, and graduate knowing that they have both a responsibility to work confidently and courageously for justice in our world, and the tools they need to begin that work.
5.25.18 - Fox 29 News - A Philadelphia high school is going to new heights. These drones were built and programmed by students at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School. Students spent the morning test flying drones as part of a year long course in the school's Autonomous Systems Engineering Academy.
6.1.18 - CBS Philly - For the Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School's class of 2018, it's an even more special day–100 percent of the graduating senior class has been accepted into a four-year college or university. Faculty members attribute a valuable work-study program for the impressive statistic.
03.26.18 - WHYY - A Catholic school in North Philadelphia, is piloting a curriculum that will turn students into literal pilots. Drone pilots, that is. Throughout this school year, the students at Cristo Rey have gobbled up technical skills they'll eventually translate into a fleet of homemade drones.
1.12.18- 6abc Action News- Students at Cristo Rey Philadelphia got a huge surprise at school this morning, receiving $150,000 from Wells Fargo. The oversized check was presented to the students during their Honors Convocation and the money will go towards student scholarships.
