Academic Resources & Support
Our mission is to provide equitable, high-impact academic support that addresses individual student needs, strengthens executive functioning, and enhances mastery of core content. Through coaching, tutoring, and targeted interventions, we partner with students, families, and educators to close learning gaps, cultivate academic habits, and promote long-term success.
It is imperative that with our high expectations we provide high support so that our young people can thrive in and out of the classroom. Multiple interventions are provided by the Academic Support team in response to a child's specific needs to offset Academic Probation. Interventions may include Academic Coaching, Success Coaching, Math/Writing Tutoring, Public Speaking/Presentation Prep.
Academic Probation Policy: Students will be placed on Academic Probation if their cumulative GPA is below a 2.0 at the time of semester report cards. Any student on Academic Probation will have a mandatory parent meeting to discuss the student's individualized academic support plan. Parents will also be required to have a mandatory progress meeting mid-semester. Students will have one semester to raise their GPA to good standing (2.0 or higher). Students are on Academic Probation more than once will have a mandatory enrollment hearing with a school administrator. While on Academic Probation, students will not be permitted to participate in any extracurricular activities until they have returned to good standing. Students will be reevaluated during progress reports and at the end of the semester.
STUDENT TESTIMONIES
"Academic Support has helped me reach my academic goals. I struggle to understand Math, but meeting with Sister Susan has helped me to be more confident with the content."
"Having academic coaching was overwhelming at first, because I was missing a lot of assignments. Ms. Glover stayed on top of me to turn my work in. She helped me to put my assignments in order of importance. She also emailed teachers to update my grades so I could see my progress."

Accommodations
Cristo Rey Philadelphia provides reasonable accommodations to all students who have supporting documentation such as a school or private evaluation (ex. 504 plan, IEP, Student Support Plan). Cristo Rey Philadelphia does not offer a special education program; therefore, not all accommodations in a student's IEP or 504 plan can be accommodated. While Cristo Rey Philadelphia accepts students with a variety of learning differences, we offer limited accommodations to support emotional and academic success.
To request an evaluation or discuss accommodations, please contact Academic Resources & Support at academicsupport@crphs.org.
