Two words sum up day-to-day life at Cristo Rey Philadelphia: expectations and support. We have high expectations for all students and a support structure in place to ensure that each student can meet those expectations.
Students at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School will take a total of 28 courses over their four years. This includes:
|Social Studies||3 years|
|Health and Fitness||4 years|
|Total Courses in 4 years||28|
The accredited curriculum is designed and taught to prepare students for success in college. The faculty will work closely with each student and help them to develop a skill set that focuses on creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration.
Through the use of standards that prepare students for college-level work, effective teaching styles that make learning engaging and possible, and instruction that is informed by routine classroom assessments, we maximize the academic achievement of our students.
The ultimate goal of a Cristo Rey Philadelphia education is that all of our students will graduate from both high school and college. During their four high school years they will gain a deep understanding of both themselves and the world around them. They will be prepared to think and act for themselves, and graduate knowing that they have both a responsibility to work confidently and courageously for justice in our world, and the tools they need to begin that work.
